The Kinzler family is home from our sabbatical and we are excited about the days to come for our ministry and for Coast Community. We had the chance to share this past Sunday about some of our reflections and experiences from our eight weeks away. (If you missed it you can listen online at www.sbnaz.com or catch us on itunes.) We enjoyed time in Costa Rica studying Spanish and meeting new friends. Our time at PALCON (Nazarene Pastors and Leaders Conference) at Point Loma and the Turnaround Schools conference in Indian Wells were great times of training and learning. And the last couple weeks at the family cabin in the mountains of Idaho proved to be very refreshing and a whole lot of fun with family and friends. As we said Sunday, we are retooled, renewed, and thankful for relationships, new and old.
We’re also thankful for how the folks at Coast Community responded to the invitation to be released into ministry in new and fresh ways this summer as we were away. Pastor Jake, Pastor Danny, Becky Fredrickson, Joshua Weitzman and Rolf Geyling each did an outstanding job of speaking on Saturday nights in Carpinteria and Sunday mornings in SB. We are blessed as a church body to have an amazing team of teachers and communicators among us. But behind the scenes there were countless others keeping track of attendance, following up on phone calls, arranging childcare schedules and performing a variety of other necessary ministry tasks. THANKS to each one.
Looking forward to a great fall ahead! Make sure you get signed up for a Growth Group if you haven’t already. We’ll be studying Philippians and I will be preaching from this amazing book as well. You won’t want to miss it. We still could use a host home or two to make sure we have enough room for everybody. Get in touch with Becky Fredrickson if you are interested (thefreds@verizon.net). Keep an eye out for other events and activities coming up as well and plan to be a part. Blessings-
