How exciting to travel the journey of adoption along with Josh and Jamie Weitzman and their family. A couple of Sundays ago we got to hear a little bit about the way in which God has been leading in this whole process. What an amazing opportunity we have as a congregation to come alongside this family in helping to care for one of God’s precious children who is in need of a family. Here is an excerpt of an email Jamie sent me in response to my questions about how we as a church can specifically support them financially. I encourage you to let the Lord lead you in how you might be able to help out.
“Our hope is that people will learn that having a child with Down syndrome is wonderful and that there is a need for families to either open up their homes or their wallets to help a child find their “forever family”. I have a list of things we still need funds for and information about a Christian non-profit organization that provides grants for families hoping to adopt and also allows people to give tax deductible donations to a specific family…
